It’s the little things that make me happy. These lights by Tom Dixon are making me happy in my 1830’s garden level kitchen renovation. The stone slabs aren’t bad either. (SMILE)

Kitchen Renovation: Island lighting and faucet

It’s soon time to install our lighting over the island. These Tom Dixon fixtures will “disappear” in the soapstone Island top when viewed from the stairs. Once you’ve reached the bottom of the stairs you’ll catch a glimpse of what’s inside………..

These fixtures have a beautiful hand hammered brass interior that will cast a warm glow over the island workspace.

Another of the 3 shapes we’ll be using all inspired by brass cooking pots and traditional water vessels from the subcontinent. These lights were ordered through the great people at Klaus by Neinkamper.

I think they complement our Venuto faucet from Brizo don’t you?

The Black faucet will also “disappear” in our soapstone countertop and sink.

The pre oil soapstone slab. Oiling will make this stone even darker and deeper.

The counter also blends into the stained concrete floor.
